ARGUS' EYES represents the coded visualisation of data from a fitness wristband within a day. Each of the 7 rings is assigned a category, e.g. red the heart rate, orange the body temperature and green the steps taken. On the scale of 1 real hour corresponds to 1 min in the video, each ring changes its size depending on the measured values. The visualisation of data echoes the form of the bracelet.
The work deals with the release of personal, health-related data that is collected and stored via apps. The topic takes up the current situation in which people's health turns into a global instrument, taken as a basis for political and social decisions.
The growing willingness to be widely monitored shows a societal shift in which the panopticon transforms from an imposed to a deliberate form of surveillance.
