KLANGZEITFIGUREN 2.0 represents a duo set of Alexander's Lyra-8 organismic synthesizer and Darja's Klangzeitfigur #2. The figure is played using only the hands and a cello bow, with a contact microphone attached that amplifies the sound. Version 3.0 is a trio in which Manuel plays Klangzeitfigur #3.
The sound of the metal sculpture taken through the contact microphone serves as a structural element for the modulation of the performance. The figures and the synthesiser run through a Eurorack effects chain and turn the improvisation into an interlocking wheel of sound progressions.
