In their duo show PEARLESCENT CLOUDS, Jan Pančocha and Darja Shatalova deal with the multistage translation of information and, as a result of its transformation, with the distortion of content. The site-specific installation is composed of object groups entering into dialogue and being interlinked by light interventions in the space.
The works are intended as an examination of a present in which socio-political events are taking place globally and it is becoming increasingly difficult to recognise underlying processes and verify the content of truth due to numerous reports from different channels.
The work aims to show how information content is adapted, modulated and reinterpreted and thus constantly changes in the transcription process. The title takes up a rare natural phenomenon and refers to the desire for light, clarity and tranquillity.
